Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. About KiiTOS
KiiTOS is a Learn-to-Earn platform operated by a company incorporated in Hong Kong. We operate on social enterprise principles: our mission is to harness AI-generated content for positive social impact — helping small businesses promote themselves, giving meaningful stories a voice, and making AI education accessible to everyone. As part of this mission, we offer preferential terms to schools and charitable organisations (see Section 9).
This policy explains who owns what on KiiTOS, how intellectual property ("IP") is licensed, and how we handle copyright concerns. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms have the meanings given in the Terms.
2. Platform Materials — Owned by KiiTOS
Unless otherwise stated, all materials that make up the KiiTOS platform itself — including the website design, user interface, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, video templates, digital human models, voice models, music library, stock media library, software, and documentation — are owned by KiiTOS or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws, including the Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528) of Hong Kong.
- The "KiiTOS" name and logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except to identify our service truthfully (e.g., "Made with KiiTOS").
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use platform materials strictly for creating content through the Service. You may not extract, republish, resell, or sub-licence templates, models, or media assets on a standalone basis.
- No ownership of platform materials transfers to you by using the Service.
3. Content You Create — You Own It
Subject to your compliance with the Terms and this Policy, you retain ownership of the videos and other content you create using the Service ("Your Content"), to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- AI-generated output: Because output is machine-generated, copyright protection for purely AI-generated works may be limited or unavailable in some jurisdictions (for example, where human authorship is required). You acknowledge this legal reality and agree that we make no promise that Your Content is copyright-protectable.
- Your contributions: Your scripts, prompts, uploaded assets, and creative choices remain yours.
- Responsibility: Ownership means responsibility. You warrant that Your Content does not infringe any third party's IP and that you hold all necessary consents (see Section 7).
4. Licence You Grant to KiiTOS
You grant KiiTOS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, host, reproduce, process, transcode, and display Your Content for the purposes of operating the Service — including delivering your videos, powering the "Copy & Create" feature, running course delivery, and displaying public showcases. This licence is limited to platform operations and does not transfer ownership. You may delete Your Content from your account; deletion will stop further public display, subject to backup retention and legal retention requirements.
5. Copy & Create — How It Works Legally
Every video on KiiTOS carries a "Copy & Create" button. This is a core, intended feature of the platform, and by publishing content publicly on KiiTOS, you agree that other users may copy the template structure of your video (the template used, model settings, and scene layout) to make their own videos with their own content. However:
- Other users copy the template and settings, not your script, narration, images, or other original content — those remain yours and copying them without permission is a breach of this Policy.
- You may opt out of public Copy & Create for an individual work by marking it as private in your account settings.
- This licence covers platform use only. It does not allow anyone to appropriate your content outside KiiTOS.
6. Course Content
Course creators retain ownership of their course materials, including lessons, quizzes, and any video content. By publishing a course, you grant KiiTOS the licence in Section 4 and permit paid enrolment by other users under the revenue-share model described in the Terms. You warrant that your course materials do not infringe third-party IP, and you remain responsible for obtaining permissions for any third-party materials (textbook excerpts, images, music) used in your courses.
7. Third-Party IP & Consents
- Real people: You must hold documented consent from every identifiable person whose face, voice, or likeness you use. Using someone's likeness without consent may breach copyright, privacy, and personality-rights laws.
- Brand names & logos: You may only use third-party trademarks (e.g., a client's brand in a promotional video) if you are authorised to do so.
- Music & stock media: Use only the licensed libraries provided within the Service, or materials you own or have licensed. Uploading pirated music, film clips, or images scraped from the internet is prohibited.
- Training data: Do not upload content you do not own for the purpose of cloning a voice or face you have no rights to.
8. Infringement — Notice & Takedown
If you believe content on KiiTOS infringes your copyright, send a written notice to legal@kiitos.world including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the infringing content on our site; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement of good-faith belief in the infringement; and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorised agent.
We will review notices promptly, remove or disable access to clearly infringing material, and notify the uploader, who may submit a counter-notice. We maintain a repeat-infringer policy: accounts of repeat infringers are terminated.
9. Schools & Charities — Preferential Terms
As a social-enterprise-minded platform, KiiTOS offers additional preferential terms to accredited schools, educational institutions, and registered charitable organisations:
- Discounted pricing: Preferential rates on top-ups and video production, as published on the Pricing page or as agreed in an institutional plan. (Institutional pricing is quoted individually — contact us to apply.)
- Educational licensing: Content created by a school under an institutional account may be used for classroom teaching, school events, and the school's own non-commercial communication channels, at no additional licence fee.
- Charity licensing: Content created by a registered charity may be used for the charity's fundraising appeals and awareness campaigns, provided the content is not resold or used for commercial endorsement of third-party products.
- Eligibility: Institutions apply with proof of status (e.g., school registration or charity registration under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112) of Hong Kong, or equivalent in your jurisdiction). KiiTOS verifies eligibility and may withdraw preferential status if the eligibility ceases or terms are breached.
- Preferential terms do not reduce either party's IP rights under this Policy.
10. Trademarks of Others
All third-party trademarks, logos, and brand names that may appear in user content, educational materials, or media libraries are the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with KiiTOS.
11. Enforcement & Governing Law
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, and pursue legal remedies for breaches of this Policy. This Policy is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from it, consistent with the Terms of Service.
